CONCORD, N.C. – It will be a memorable weekend at Martinsville Speedway as Hendrick Motorsports will celebrate its 40th anniversary with four ruby red paint schemes for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race.

In 1984, driver Geoff Bodine scored the first win for Hendrick Motorsports (then known as All-Star Racing), which kept team owner Rick Hendrick from shutting down the fledging team. These paint schemes will celebrate the 40th anniversary of that win at the site where it took place.

Martinsville has been the winningest track for Hendrick Motorsports. The organization's 28 wins and 10,614 laps led are the most by any team at any track. All four current drivers have gone to victory lane at the 0.526-mile track in the last seven races – the only venue where that has occurred.

Kyle Larson will get behind the wheel of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com 40th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 31-year-old driver is the defending race winner, leading the final 30 laps to score the win last April. He has three straight top-six finishes at Martinsville. Additionally, three of his four top-five finishes there have come in his six starts with Hendrick Motorsports.

Chase Elliott takes to the track in the No. 9 UniFirst 40th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 28-year-old driver won the fall race in 2020 en route to that year's Cup Series championship. Over his last eight races at Martinsville, Elliott has three top-five finishes and six top-10s. The Virginia short track is also where the Dawsonville, Georgia, native has led the most laps (1,040).

In 12 starts at the venue, the 26-year-old driver has four top-five finishes and six top-10s – the top-fives are tied for his most at one track.
