MEXICO CITY - William Byron turned in a largely quiet, solid day in Mexico City on Sunday.
And that was good enough to push his advantage in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings even further.
After a ninth-place showing at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Byron sits 67 markers above Kyle Larson, unofficially. Chase Elliott, who finished a season-best third on Sunday, is fourth, 104 points back of Byron.
Rounding out the organization's drivers is Alex Bowman, who would also be in the playoffs if they started today. His fourth-place drive on Sunday helped keep Bowman 12th in points.
