HAMPTON, Ga. - Half of the original 32-driver field in the NASCAR In-Season Challenge will move on from Atlanta Motor Speedway and look forward to second-round matchups at the Chicago Street Course next week.
And so too did half of the Hendrick Motorsports contingent.
Chase Elliott, via his win Saturday night, advanced past Austin Dillon. Entering the tournament as the No. 5 seed, Elliott will move on to take on 12th-seeded John Hunter Nemechek on Sunday.
Also advancing was Alex Bowman, who turned in a third-place finish at Atlanta. Bowman, the eighth seed, got past Joey Logano and will now set his sights on ninth-seeded Bubba Wallace. Bowman is the reigning winner at the Chicago Street Course.
Green flag in the Windy City is set for 2 p.m. this Sunday.
