CHICAGO - A tough weekend in the Windy City did little to squelch Hendrick Motorsports' momentum in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.
William Byron retained his points lead with teammates Chase Elliott (13 back) and Kyle Larson (19 behind) right in tow, giving the organization a sweep of the top three spots.
In terms of the playoff standings, Larson, with his three wins, leads the way while Byron and Elliott are each also locked in via wins. With his eighth-place run, Alex Bowman moved up another spot to 14th and is 39 points above the elimination line.
Just seven races remain in the regular season.
Here's a look at the standings entering next weekend's race at Sonoma Raceway.
