DOVER, Del. - Chase Elliott's summer hot streak continued with a big points day at Dover Motor Speedway on Sunday.
And it took him all the way to the top of the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.
Elliott now sits alone with 702 points, 16 markers ahead of Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron. Kyle Larson, meanwhile, is second in the NASCAR playoff standings with three wins to his credit.
It was also a good day for Alex Bowman, who scored stage points in both segments and finished third, extending his cushion over the playoff bubble to 63 points in 14th.
