RIDGEWAY, Va. - William Byron showed up when the lights were the brightest.

On Sunday afternoon, Byron dominated the NASCAR Cup Series main event at Martinsville Speedway. Despite late-race cautions, the driver of the No. 24 entry held the point position to win his third race of the 2025 season.

The charge included a pass on the race leader, Ryan Blaney, in the final segment to regain control of the race. Next weekend, Byron will compete once again for his first Cup Series championship.

Also locking himself into the Championship 4 was Kyle Larson in the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet.

Despite running towards the front for the majority of the race, Larson was the victim of an ill-timed caution in the final stage, causing a loss of track position. However, Larson was able to move back through the field and into the fifth spot.

Next weekend, Larson will look to win his second Cup Series title, four years removed from his first crown in 2021.

Chase Elliott's bid to return to the Championship 4 came up just short at Martinsville. After running inside the top-five spots for most of the day, Elliott also lost track position with the caution in the final stage.

Ultimately, it was a third-place finish for the No. 9 entry.

After starting in the 17th spot, Alex Bowman ended the 500-lap race in the 23rd spot.
