Bristol qualifying: Johnson and Gordon in top five

BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 19, 2010) – Jimmie Johnson captured the fourth starting position during Friday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying session at Bristol Motor Speedway. This is the third top-five starting position in the season's first five events for the driver of the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet. Jeff Gordon joins Johnson in the top five and will roll off the grid fifth in his No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet. Teammates Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will line up 13th and 18th, respectively. Martin, driver of the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, Gordon and Johnson all scored times in the top 10 during the Friday morning practice session. Race coverage is scheduled to begin at noon ET on FOX.
