·         The 2005 Golden Corral 500 earned a 5.5 rating on FOX, down -4% from the 5.7 rating in 2004 (also on FOX).

·         An average of 6.1 million households (-1% vs 2004) and 9.0 million viewers (+6%) tuned in.

·         Despite a slight decline in the rating (-4%) more viewers tuned in to the 2005 Golden Corral 500 than the 2004 event (+6%)

 ·        The 2005 Golden Corral 500 rating peaked at 6.7 from 5:00PM – 5:15PM, a +43% increase over the 4.7 initial tune-in rating. The 2004 rating peaked at 6.8, a +33% increase over the 5.1 initial tune-in rating.

·         The 2005 Golden Corral 500 aired directly up against the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament. The 2004 Golden Corral 500 aired the week prior to the NCAA tournament, up against College Basketball Conference Championship games.

·         The 5.5 rating for the 2005 Golden Corral 500 was down -2% from the 5.6 rating for the 2004 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington Raceway, which aired the same weekend as the 2005 Golden Corral 500 (i.e., the 3^rd weekend in March during the second round of the NCAA tournament). 

·         In addition to the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, the 2005 Golden Corral 500 also aired directly up against the PGA, NBA, AFL, Tennis, and the first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament. The 2004 event did not air against the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament but did air directly up against Men’s College Basketball Conference tournaments, PGA, NBA, AFL, and Tennis.
