BROOKLYN, Mich. - While victory was not in the cards for Hendrick Motorsports at Michigan International Speedway this weekend, the team brought speed to the 2-mile oval.

Despite having to pit with two laps left, William Byron stays on top with 576 points while Kyle Larson's fifth-place helped him close the gap. He sits 41 markers away from his teammate in second at 535 points.

Chase Elliott's result of 15th keeps him in fifth at 464 tallies, 112 away from Byron.

Alex Bowman was involved in a heavy multi-car wreck and drops to 13th in the standings at 335 points, 241 away from the leader.

The NASCAR Cup Series ventures to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City next week for the tour's second road course race of the season.
