The Last Time: Phoenix International Raceway

CONCORD, N.C. -- The Eliminator Round will come to an end on Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, and Jeff Gordon has a chance to advance to Homestead-Miami Speedway with a shot at a fifth NASCAR Cup Series championship.

He has two wins at the track, and earlier this season, he took home a top-five result at Phoenix.

In that early March race, all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers finished in the top 11 after three of the four qualified in the top 11.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the teammates to the checkered flag, taking home a runner-up finish. Despite making contact with a competitor during one of the late-race restarts, he was able to take home his second top-two finish of the year, following his Daytona 500 victory.

Gordon was up next, and though he was in 10th with 21 laps to go, he managed to advance five positions by the time the checkered flag waved. It was, at the time, his second consecutive top-five result to start the season.

Jimmie Johnson was just behind Gordon in sixth, and Kasey Kahne rounded out a big day for Hendrick Motorsports, finding his way to an 11th-place result after falling off the lead lap earlier in the race.

While all four drivers will look for similar results this Sunday, Gordon has the most on the line, as he is currently fourth in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings -- 12 points behind the leader and one point on the good side of the cut-off line.
