Gordon and Busch Turn to 'The Force' this May

Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch will each celebrate the release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith with special paint schemes this May. Gordon will have everyone's favorite Jedi Master, Yoda, as his co-pilot when he takes the wheel on May 1 and tries to capture his second straight win in the spring race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. In conjunction with the highly-anticipated May 19, 2005 release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the hood of Gordon’s No. 24 DuPont/Pepsi Monte Carlo will feature Star Wars’ beloved Yoda brandishing a light saber against the familiar Pepsi logo. This marks the second time Gordon, a Pepsi driver, has turned to the force. The No. 24 car featured a Star Wars/Pepsi paint scheme in 1999 when Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was released. In addition to the No. 24 paint out, Pepsi will run a national promotion centered around Yoda. Beginning April 18, Pepsi drinkers and Star Wars fans have three ways to play the “Call Upon Yoda” instant-win sweepstakes -- online, by phone, or by text messaging -- to see if they've won one of ten $100,000 grand prizes. Other prizes include Star Wars toys and games from Hasbro and Lego and free 2-liter bottles of Pepsi Lime. The sweepstakes will also bring fans closer to their favorite characters, Yoda, Darth Vader, C3PO and R2-D2 via unique Web-based interactive games and phone and text messaging programs. To learn more about the promotion log onto the sweepstakes Web site - www.CallUponYoda.com After Talladega, race fans all over the galaxy will bear witness to Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 5 Kellogg’s Chevrolet turning to the “Dark Side” under the lights at Richmond(Va.) International Speedway on May 14th. To honor a relationship light years old, Kellogg Company has joined forces with Lucas Films once again for a special paint scheme to highlight the May 19th opening of the movie. Busch will have Star Wars characters Darth Vader and Yoda riding along for the Chevrolet American Revolution 400, in hopes the “force” will carry him to Victory Lane. “Growing up I was a huge Star Wars fan,” says Busch. “Its awesome to be associated with Kellogg’s for their special tribute to Star Wars. I can’t wait to see the movie myself because this is the episode in which all the answers will be revealed. The car is going to look really cool on the track too so hopefully the ‘force’ will be with us.” Star Wars themed Kellogg’s product is now available nationwide and will appear on over 100 million Kellogg packages. Participating brands include Apple Jacks®, Corn Pops®, Corn Flakes®, Honey Smacks®, Raisin Bran Crunch®, Smorz®, Frosted Mini Wheats Bite Size®, Frosted Mini Wheats Maple and Brown Sugar®, Frosted Mini Wheats Frosted Original®, Crispix®, Pop Tarts®, Snack Stix®, Eggo Waffles®, Cheez-Its®, Town House Crackers®, Club Crackers®, Fudge Shoppe Cookies®, Chips Deluxe®, EL Fudge®, Cereal & Milk Bars®, NG Granola Bars®, RK Treats®, and Grahams®.
