Earnhardt, Johnson make late-night TV circuit

CONCORD, N.C. -- Wednesday was an eventful day for the four Hendrick Motorsports drivers in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

To kick off NASCAR's playoffs, all 16 Chase drivers spread out across the country -- and even into Mexico and Canada -- to build excitement for Sunday's opening race at Chicagoland Speedway.

To cap it all off, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. both made their way to late-night talk shows on opposite ends of the country.

Johnson, in New York, took on Jimmy Fallon in a cooler scooter race on "The Tonight Show."

Earnhardt, meanwhile, joined the host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to talk the new Chase format and the Western town he built on his property.

That was just the tip of the iceberg for the drivers on a day packed full of activities and appearances.
