CONCORD, N.C. -- As the college football season makes its debut this week, Spencer Bishop, the jackman for the No. 24 team, is ready to cheer on Wake Forest as the school plays its first game of the season against Old Dominion this Friday, Sept. 3.
In this week's episode of Game Day to Race Day, Bishop breaks down how he went from catching passes and blocking as a Demon Deacon tight end to pitting race cars for Hendrick Motorsports.
"I still wanted to be competitive, I still wanted to achieve a goal in a team atmosphere, and NASCAR seemed like the next best step for that," Bishop said, who majored in communications and minored in psychology.
Check out the video above to hear Bishop detail his journey to Hendrick Motorsports and catch him and the rest of the Hendrick Motorsports pit crews live on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN as they head to Darlington Raceway for the first round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
