LONG POND, Pa. (July 27, 2002) -– Jimmie Johnson was the quickest HMS driver third overall in Saturday’s Pennsylvania 500 happy hour practice at Pocono Speedway. Driving the No. 48 Lowe’s Monte Carlo, Johnson posted a lap time of 54.825 seconds and a top speed of 164.159 mph. Jeff Gordon was the second-best Hendrick Motorsports performer, posting a time of 55.017 seconds and a speed of 163.586 mph in the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, putting him 19th in the session. The No. 25 UAW-Delphi Chevrolet of Joe Nemechek was the 22nd-quickest car in practice with a speed of 163.174 mph and a time of 55.156 seconds. Terry Labonte was 24th in the happy hour practice session, driving the No. 5 Kellogg’s Chevrolet to a 55.189-second time and a speed of 163.076 mph.
