SONOMA, Calif. (April 3, 2009) – Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series defending champion and California native Jimmie Johnson has joined forces with Infineon Raceway on a special ticket offer for the 110-lap NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event on June 21. The “48 Special” not only will get fans a great ticket to the race, which falls on Father’s Day, they also will get an exclusive chalk-talk session with Johnson on April 16 at Infineon Raceway. The raceway and Johnson have combined on this package to thank the great fans that have supported NASCAR Cup racing in the Sonoma Valley for more than 20 years. “As drivers I know we are trying to do as much as we can for the fans," said Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet. "I'm pleased that we are able to partner with Infineon Raceway to put the ‘48 Special’ together and offer fans an affordable ticket to the race. I look forward to seeing a lot of them out at the track when I'm there on April 16.” The raceway has targeted 480 seats in Turn 7 that will be sold for $48.48 as part of the “48 Special.” The seats in rows 4-8 will be located in the hillside terraces at Turn 7, which is a prime passing spot on the road course. The $48.48 ticket is a 50-percent savings over the regular price. All race fans that purchase the “48 Special” between today and April 15 will get an exclusive chalk-talk session with Johnson on April 16, at the raceway. The session will take place in the terraces at Turn 7, giving race fans an up-close look at their seats for the big race on Father’s Day in June. There also will be a raffle featuring Johnson memorabilia. “This is a terrific opportunity for our fans — an incredible value on their race tickets and a chance to rub shoulders with the three-time series champ, up close and personal,” said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway. “Our thanks to Jimmie for stepping up and helping us put this amazing package together.” To purchase the “48 Special” in time to take part in the chalk-talk session with Johnson, call 800-870-RACE today or visit www.infineonraceway.com.
