CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 15, 2008) -- Caleb Hurd and Jamie Frady, pit crew members for the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, combined to shatter an individual skills record by four seconds during Thursday night's NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge at Time-Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. Hurd, gas man for the No. 24 Chevy and a former holder on the Virginia Tech football team, worked with catch-can man Jamie Frady to fill the car with 18 gallons in 10.031 seconds. The existing record was 14.20 seconds. Crew members were timed during the early rounds of competition, and the individual winners received $10,000 for completing their event the fastest.
