HMS Museum Extends Hours for May 'Raceweeks'

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 17, 2005) - During May “Race Weeks,” the Hendrick Motorsports museum and team store will open its doors for extended hours. Hours will be the following: Monday, May 16th-Wednesday - May 18th (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.) Thursday, May 19th- Friday, May 20th (9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.) Saturday, May 21st – (9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.) Sunday, May 22nd – (Closed to the Public) Monday, May 23rd – Tuesday, May 24th (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.) Wednesday, May 25th- Friday, May 27th (9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) Saturday, May 28th – (10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.) Sunday, May 29th - (Closed to the Public) Monday, May 30th – (9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) (Please note these hours are for the HMS museum and team store only, and do not apply to the race shops which are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday) The 15,000-square-foot museum features memorabilia from Hendrick’s more than two decades of racing and is free and open to the public. Inside, fans can view NASCAR championship trophies, two of Jeff Gordon’s Daytona 500-winning Chevrolets, the “Days of Thunder” Chevy Lumina, Tim Richmond’s Chevrolet, and much more. The Hendrick Team Store is also located inside the museum, carrying a full line of apparel, die-cast models and collectibles. NASCAR fans are also welcome to stop by the Hendrick Motorsports team shops of four-time Cup Series champion Gordon, rookie Kellogg’s Racing driver Kyle Busch, GMAC/ditech.com Racing driver Brian Vickers, Team Lowe’s Racing driver Jimmie Johnson, two-time champion Terry Labonte and Team Lowe’s Racing Busch Series drivers Boston Reid and Blake Feese. All Hendrick Motorsports team shops are open to the public and have free fan viewing areas. The Hendrick Motorsports complex lies on more than 96 acres in Charlotte, and contains more than 400,000 square feet of workspace. All Hendrick race cars are built on the premises and the engine staff builds or re-builds more than 700 engines each year.
