CONCORD, N.C. – In March, the inaugural eNASCAR Heat Pro League Draft saw 28 gamers selected to take part in the first-ever NASCAR esports league on consoles.

In April, Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club was officially introduced, the team for which Xbox One driver Sam Morris and PlayStation 4 driver Nick Jobes will chase the NHPL title.

Now, we know the highly anticipated season opener will take place in May. This Sunday, May 26, to be exact.

The Xbox race will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET, with the PlayStation race kicking off at 4 p.m. ET. Fans can tune in starting at 3 p.m. ET for pre-race coverage. All the action will be streamed live on NASCAR’s Facebook page and 704Games’ Twitch channel.

The event will take place at the NASCAR Trackside Live stage at Charlotte Motor Speedway leading up to the 600-mile race at the track, and Chase Elliott will be among the NASCAR Cup Series competitors in attendance for the pre-race festivities.

Morris will pilot the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Jobes will race the No. 25 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Their paint schemes were revealed earlier this month.

“It’s my dream to be part of Hendrick Motorsports and the Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club,” Jobes said. “I dreamed about this plenty of times, and to finally be here, and maybe I took an alternate route to get here, but it’s crazy. It really is.

“It’s incredible to really feel like kind of part of the team.”

After Sunday’s season opener, the campaign will continue with its second race next Wednesday, May 29. The season will culminate during the Cup Series playoffs.
