DOVER, Del. – It was a milestone day for Chevrolet at Dover.

The manufacturer earned its 750th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win in the third race of the 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

And the win came thanks to Kevin Harvick, utilizing a Hendrick Motorsports engine and chassis.

Chevrolet’s rich heritage in NASCAR competition began when Fonty Flock took the checkered flag on March 26, 1955, at Columbia Raceway in Columbia, South Carolina, in his 1955 Chevy. Six decades later, the “Bowtie Brand” has continued to set the mark.

Jimmie Johnson was the last driver to earn a milestone victory for Chevrolet – the 700th – at Texas Motor Speedway in 2012.

“Hendrick Motorsports is extremely dedicated to the product of Chevrolet and to be able to do that is an honor,” No. 48 team crew chief Chad Knaus said at the time.

In addition to Chevrolet’s 700th win, Hendrick Motorsports also earned the milestone 400th (Terry Labonte), 500th (Jeff Gordon) and 600th (Kyle Busch) victories for the manufacturer.

Those 750 wins have come thanks to 76 different drivers. Chevrolet also has 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships, 38 Manufacturer’s championship – including each of the last 12 – and 23 Daytona 500 wins.

Chevrolet drivers have won at 70 different tracks, and in the process have logged more than 260,918 miles, enough to circle the Earth at the equator 10 times.

Gordon and Johnson hold the most wins in a Chevrolet, with 92 and 74, respectively.
