CONCORD, N.C. – In NASCAR Cup Series history, no team has dominated a single track like Hendrick Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway.

As the NASCAR Cup Series heads to the 0.526-mile oval this weekend, take a look at Hendrick Motorsports’ résumé at the Virginia track.

  • The organization has accumulated 24 wins at the venue – the most wins all-time by any team at any track, ahead of Junior Johnson and Associates’ 21 wins at Bristol. Hendrick Motorsports’ 19 wins at Charlotte and Dover are tied for third-most all-time.

  • It all started with the team’s very first Cup Series win – captured by Geoff Bodine in April 1984. Beginning with that victory, Hendrick Motorsports has won 35 percent of the races at Martinsville – 24 of 68.

  • The organization has had at least one car finish in the top 10 in 61 of those 68 races, including 46 of the last 47. Last season, Chase Elliott finished third in the April race and was leading the October race with less than five laps to go before contact by a competitor cost him a shot at the win.

  • Hendrick Motorsports has also led 27 percent of the total laps run since that 1984 win – 9,241 of 33,895 – and swept the top two finishing positions five times.

  • The organization has been on a three-race win streak there four times and has won six of the last 11 races at the track – including at least one race in five of the last six seasons.

  • The 24 wins have come courtesy of five different drivers. First came Bodine’s win, then came four from Darrell Waltrip. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have both earned nine apiece – tied for third-most all-time – and Dale Earnhardt Jr. contributed one.

  • Hendrick Motorsports is the only team to have multiple drivers with at least six wins at a single track.

  • Atop the pit box, Hendrick Motorsports crew chiefs have had plenty of success at Martinsville as well. Along with No. 48 team crew chief Chad Knaus’ nine wins, No. 9 team crew chief Alan Gustafson has won twice at the track, and No. 24 team crew chief Darian Grubb has captured one victory there. No. 88 team crew chief Greg Ives has a pair of top-10 finishes at Martinsville, including a best finish of fourth place in November 2015.

  • All-time, Hendrick Motorsports leads all teams with 50 short-track wins. The next-closest team is Joe Gibbs Racing with 32 victories.

  • At Martinsville, Jimmie Johnson has 24 top-10 finishes, which is the most of any active driver. That included a streak of 17 consecutive top-10s, which is the second-highest number all-time at any track. Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty both had streaks of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes at North Wilkesboro.
