CONCORD, N.C. -- Alex Bowman avoided four massive accidents in the final 13 laps to place fifth at virtual Talladega for the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series.

Bowman worked his way from 33rd after he was forced to start from the rear of the field. Last season, Bowman won at the virtual Alabama track.

Kyle Larson rallied from being involved in two accidents to place 17th. William Byron and Chase Elliott were both involved in the final accident with a couple of laps to go. Byron finished 32nd and Elliott placed 33nd.

Brad Keselowski won the race.

KYLE LARSON, NO. 5 KYLE LARSON FOUNDATION CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 1LE FINISHED: 17th
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Larson started 11th and edged to ninth within five laps. He was up three spots when the race resumed on Lap 12 after the first yellow flag. He maintained that position when another caution fell five laps later.
  • Larson dropped to seventh shortly after the restart and kept that position when he pitted under green. He was back in ninth after the third caution was lifted on Lap 47. He was part of the massive accident on Lap 48 after he was hit from behind. Larson reset and returned to the track 28th.
  • The fifth caution dropped with 13 laps left and Larson was in 25th place. He restarted 20th and was making a run for the front of the pack when he was involved in his second accident and went airborne.
  • Larson used his second reset and restarted 32nd with seven laps left. He avoided a third accident and was 23rd for the final restart. Larson finished 17th after he avoided a final incident.

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 1LE 
FINISHED: 33rd
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Elliott began the race 23rd and was up three spots just six laps into the race. He restarted 15th after the first caution on the ninth lap and edged to 13th by Lap 17.
  • Elliott was 12th and was trying to form an outside lane when the second caution dropped. He restarted 36th and jumped to 17th when the lead pack of drivers pitted. He pitted with 28 to go and returned and was 34th after another yellow flag.
  • The driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE was 30th after another restart with 19 laps left. After avoided three huge accidents and was 17th with four laps to go, Elliott was involved in the final wreck and finished 33rd.

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 1LE
FINISHED: 32nd
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Byron started 19th and was 11th just four laps into the virtual race. He was tapped from behind during the first caution on Lap 9 and restarted 21st after pitted for fuel and tires.
  • Byron was down to 23rd when a second yellow flag waved on Lap 17. He was up to 20th after he restarted from a second caution but dropped to 26th by Lap 37. He pitted with the first half of the field and was 31st coming out.
  • Under the third yellow flag with less than 30 laps left, Byron was 23rd. He restarted 18th and avoided a massive accident in front of him, allowing him to restart 11th with 19 to go. He quickly worked his way to seventh, avoided three Big Ones in quick succession.
  • This allowed Byron to move to third with four laps left. He dropped to ninth on the final lap after he went to the outside line and was involved in the final wreck, relegating him to a 32nd-place finish.

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 48 ALLY/BEST FRIENDS CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 1LE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Bowman started 33rd after a black flag and jumped up five spots within four laps. He restarted 32nd after the first caution on the ninth lap.
  • Bowman was 30th by Lap 14 and restarted 25th on Lap 20 after a second yellow flag waved. He edged to 24th quickly and was 23rd by Lap 33. He jumped to sixth on Lap 38 when the lead pack pitted but fell back to 23rd when the field all finished pitting.
  • The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE broke into the top 20 and restarted 15th on Lap 47 after another yellow flag lifted. He was up to 13th after another accident occurred  immediately after the restart. He pitted and restarted 24th with 19 to go and was 22nd when the fifth yellow flag waved six laps later.
  • He avoided three giant accidents and restarted 11th on Lap 67. He jumped to eighth on the final lap and jumped to fifth before he crossed the finish line.
