CONCORD, N.C. -- As 2016 comes to a close, we thought we would look back at an eventful year that culminated with Hendrick Motorsports' 12th NASCAR Cup Series championship.

Before winning the pole and competing in his first career Daytona 500, Chase Elliott took to the skies with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in Daytona.

Elliott started the season off strong by claiming his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole for the 58th Daytona 500.

We provided an up-close look at the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" firesuits that Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. wore at Fontana.

Kasey Kahne, Elliott and Earnhardt raced DEWcision-themed paint schemes at Richmond International Raceway in April in order to promote Mountain Dew's summer campaign, where fans could vote to keep one of the flavors on shelves.

Following his historic win at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 20, Johnson celebrated both the victory and his seventh NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in Victory Lane.

Earnhardt joined Hendrick Motorsports partner, Axalta, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to reveal the new paint scheme he would pilot at Kansas Speedway in May.

To kick off the 2016 season, the four Hendrick Motorsports drivers joined the organization's owner, Rick Hendrick, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame for the Media Tour.
