CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson has been busy.

On Sunday, he helped the NFL's Carolina Panthers "Keep Pounding" en route to a victory.

Just two days later, he found himself in Nashville, Tennessee, to present the biggest award of the night at the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards.

Looking forward to seeing some friends tonight @LukeBryanOnline @kennychesney #ACCAwards http://t.co/rYmV1iJiHP

Along with MLB National League Cy Young award and MVP recipient Clayton Kershaw, Johnson announced Jason Aldean as the Artist of the Year.

Prior to the event, Johnson and Kershaw joked on Twitter about carpooling to the ceremony.

Hey @ClaytonKersh22, have any plans tonight? #ACCAwards

Once they arrived, Johnson took a little time for an interview on the red carpet.

The six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion was seated just a couple rows away from friend and country star Kenny Chesney.
