CONCORD, N.C. – Tuesday evening, Nationwide revealed the paint scheme that Alex Bowman will pilot for 600 miles this Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

It carries extra significance due to the name that will adorn the top of the windshield – Chief Petty Officer Jon “J.T.” Tumilson.

Tumilson’s sisters, Joy McMeekan and Kristie Vieira, helped design the special No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Take a look at their reaction to seeing it for the first time below.

Tumilson, a native of Rockford, Iowa, was a Navy Seal. He was killed in Afghanistan on August 6, 2011, when the helicopter he, 29 other soldiers and one military K-9 were traveling in was shot down. Nationwide has featured 30 stars and one paw print in the scheme to represent those who died in Extortion 17.
