CONCORD, N.C. -- A California native, Jimmie Johnson has come to know and love North Carolina -- and Charlotte in particular.
So it's no surprise that Wednesday morning, he appeared in the well-known Charlotte Agenda newsletter in a story titled "The Jimmie Johnson Guide to Charlotte."
Author Katie Levans interviewed Johnson, who provided his insight into Charlotte lifestyle "as a husband, dad and Queen City transplant."
In addition to discussing his Jimmie Johnson Foundation Wellness Challenge -- which kicks off with a 5K on May 22 -- the driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet SS talked restaurants, breweries, outdoor activities and the best places to entertain kids for an afternoon.
"I love it," he said of Charlotte. "I’m a transplant from southern California, left beautiful San Diego, traveled all over and now I call Charlotte home and I love it. It’s a wonderful town with lots going on."
