CONCORD, N.C. – Previously, assistant strength and conditioning coach Evan Kureczka gave fans an inside look at Hendrick Motorsports’ strength and conditioning program

Now, the trainer gives an up-close look at the functional movement screening tool – an important process the strength and conditioning team uses daily to evaluate pit crew athletes’ overall physical health.

The process includes seven different movement patterns to help check for injuries and physical limitations, with the ultimate goal of preventing injuries and ensuring pit crew members are physically ready to go for race weekend.

“We just want to use it as a screening to baseline our guys, to prevent injuries and make them better in the weight room, in practice and to get their bodies well-rounded,” Kureczka explained.
